UO students win 2 of 3 national awards for innovative product designs

The Interzinc Awards challenges design, engineering students to develop products using zinc--

Two days before classes began in fall 2010, Teressa Hamje had no plans to go back to college. She lived in Portland and worked as a professional muralist. Her fiancé had left for an all-boys camping trip so she was sulking with her dog on the couch when Netflix suggested a documentary, “Objectified,” about the expression, identity and sustainability that go into product design – from potato peelers to tech gadgets.

Stephen Burks Lecture

UO Product Design Program has invited designer Stephen Burks of Ready Made Project
to give a lecture and a workshop for PD’s ‘Experimental Materials Lab’ class.

Stephen Burks is one of the most recognized American industrial designers of his generation. He and his New York studio, Readymade Projects, have been responsible for creative design direction on projects ranging from retail interiors and events to packaging, consumer products, lighting, furniture and home accessories.
