Computing Labs: General Information

A&AA Computing Services staff maintain two computing labs that are open to all A&AA students:

  • The Design Computing Lab, 283 Lawrence Hall, with 20 Mac and Windows computers, many scanners, and one HP LaserJet printer.
  • The A&AA Internet Cafe, two Windows computers and five Macs in 281 Lawrence Hall.

All other labs are open only to students in specific A&AA departments.

A&AA Computing Services staff maintain over 100 public computers around A&AA. These computers have all of the same software that A&AA lab computers have. In general, these computers are available only to a small group of students, such as those taking a specific class. There is a detailed list of these computers on the Locations and Hardware page.

Access to each lab is controlled by a keypad, to which you will need a combination. New combinations are available at the start of each term at the appropriate department office.

During academic terms, A&AA Computing Labs are always open as long as you have a way to access (via code or key) the building and room in which the computers live. Labs are open at night and on weekends.
