Design Assistance
In two locations, the Energy Studies in Buildings Laboratory conduct a design assistance program for architects, which uses the artificial sky, heliodon, and computer simulations to recommend proposed building design changes to maximize daylighting, ventilation, and energy efficiency strategies. This service is sponsored by utilities through the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance and the University of Oregon. The ESBL has been serving the Eugene region since 1989, and the Portland region since 2002.
