Maps and Directions
The School of Architecture and Allied Arts connects in multiple ways with the city of Portland and the metropolitan area through teaching, research, and service activities. Portland is one of the nation’s most highly regarded livable cities. It is an excellent urban laboratory and a vital cultural setting for the University of Oregon and the school’s engaged and active students and faculty members.

MAX (Eastbound and Westbound):

Exit MAX at Old Town/Chinatown (stop ID 8378), located at the intersection of NW 1st and Davis or at Skidmore Fountain (stop ID 8379), intersection of NW 1st and Couch. These are the first two stops on the west side of the Willamette River. Visit the Trimet website for a map of MAX system.

TriMet Bus Service

TriMet buses serve Multnomah, Clackamas, and Washington counties. Many bus lines connect with MAX Light Rail, and 16 lines provide frequent service (every 15 minutes).
Parking Options
  • Smart Park
    • $1.25/hour (four hours or less)
    • More than four hours $3.00/hour up to the daily maximum of $6 (daily maximum varies depending on location).
    • Nearest location: NW Naito Parkway and Davis (entrance on NW Davis).

  • City Center Parking
    • $2 for each half hour, with a daily maximum of $8.25.
    • Nearest location: 130 SW Stark St. (entrance on Stark St. between SW 1st and SW 2nd).
  • On Street Parking
    • $1.25 per hour. You do not have to pay for on street parking after 7:00 p.m. Meters in the area take debit and credit cards as well as coins. They do not accept bills.

Bicycle Storage

Bicycle storage is available to building faculty, staff, students, and workshop and event participants in the basement of the White Stag Block. To access bicycle storage, cyclists must first check in with the White Stag Block receptionist, located at the main Couch Street entrance, for directions and a temporary key card. Using the key card, cyclists may enter the storage facility through the western Skidmore entrance, nearest the MAX line.

Please note that bicycles may only be taken through the Skidmore entrance and should be locked outside while checking in.
