Sharon Alitema (Colas Construction) is a project engineer at Colas Construction. Alitema is a member of the Terrewode Women’s Fund Board and was previously a student at the University of Oregon’s School of Architecture.

Kaarin Knudson (Eugene Mayoral Candidate), AIA, is a licensed architect, educator, and civic leader with more than 20 years experience advancing sustainable design and community-led solutions. Her projects have earned numerous awards, ranging from AIA design honors to community accolades for unprecedented housing reform. After 10 years in architectural practice, she founded her own design firm and the housing advocacy organization Better Housing Together (BHT) in 2017. She speaks at regional and national conferences about sustainable cities, housing design, and the work of guiding community change. She teaches the graduate urban design workshop in UO's Community and Regional Planning program and she is co-author of a new textbook, The Sustainable Urban Design Handbook (Routledge, April 2024). In 2024, she is a candidate to be the next Mayor of Eugene.

Joe Buccini (WJE) specializes in design consulting, assessment, and repair of exterior envelope systems, as well as the restoration, repair, and renovation of historic structures. His experience ranges from peer review services to full building enclosure design for exterior envelope systems and from the creation of feasibility studies to complete survey and repair documents for historic preservation projects. Since joining WJE, Mr. Buccini has participated in various projects, including architectural field investigations, water intrusion investigations, demolition and construction documents for roofing and waterproofing repairs, glass failure investigations and reports, energy modeling for new high- and mid-rise construction, and drawings and specifications at all phases of project development.

Gunnar Hubbard (Thornton Tomasetti) is a recognized leader in the green building industry in the U.S., Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. He has more than two decades of experience as a licensed architect, consultant, educator and sustainability advocate. He collaborates collaborates with colleagues across our 45+ offices, and our sustainability experts who have performed more than 500 LEED, Passive House, WELL, and Living Building Challenge Certifications on all projects around the world. Gunnar specializes in creating high-performance, low-carbon, healthy buildings. He focuses on advancing the firm’s Climate Action initiatives through customized consulting services and client relationships for the combined Sustainability & Resilience Practice. Gunnar was inducted into the U.S. Green Building Council as a LEED Fellow in 2012 and as an American Institute of Architects Fellow in 2015.

Siobhan Rockcastle (Assistant Professor at UO) is an Assistant Professor of Architecture at the University of Oregon, Director of the Baker Lighting Lab, Associate Director of IHBE, Hans Fischer Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Studies at TU Munich, and co-founder of OCULIGHT dynamics, a company offering specialized daylight design support to promote healthy indoor occupation.  She explores topics at the intersection of architectural design, environmental dynamics, human perception, and lighting performance with a focus on well-being.  At the University of Oregon, Siobhan teaches courses on studio design at the graduate and undergraduate levels, environmental design, building simulation, and lighting. Siobhan’s current research uses simulation and virtual reality to model experiential lighting environments and conduct experiments on human health and perception.

Center for the Arts at Southern Oregon University. Serving both an academic and community audience, the Schneider Museum of Art builds a challenging environment that engages with the visual arts through exhibitions and programs supporting interdisciplinary study, research, and discourse. Malbaurn is responsible for overall curatorial, administration, planning, policy, and budget development and management of the Museum.

As an artist, Malbaurn has exhibited his work internationally with most exhibitions in New York, NY. Malbaurn has held positions at Pratt Institute serving as the Assistant Chairperson of Fine Arts and Professor of Drawing and Painting. Malbaurn has also held positions at the Isamu Noguchi Foundation and Garden Museum in the Curatorial and Collections Department and Design Department. He has lectured and been a visiting artist at Yale University, New Haven, CT; the School of the Visual Arts (SVA), New York, NY; School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), Chicago, IL, and Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY. He has received his BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art and an MFA from Pratt Institute. Malbaurn is a descendant of the Narragansett Indian Tribe and the Nipmuc Tribe.

Blake Shell is a curator and arts administrator living in Portland, Oregon. Exhibitions that Shell has curated have received reviews regionally as well as in Artforum.com's Critic's Picks and Daily Serving. Currently, Shell works at Oregon Contemporary as the executive and artistic director, providing leadership and artistic direction. She has recently overseen a strategic growth plan and rebrand – increasing programming with a focus on support for the artists; increasing audiences and outreach to the community; and greater diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion throughout the organization.
