The School of Architecture and Allied Arts at the University of Oregon in Portland connects in multiple ways with the city and the metropolitan area through teaching, research, creative work, and service activities. Portland is an extraordinary urban laboratory for the University of Oregon and the school’s engaged and active students and faculty members.

The White Stag block that houses the University of Oregon in Portland programs offers state-of-the-art technology, light-filled workspaces, a superb art and design library, and exhibition areas. Sustainability practices are evident in the LEED certified building and in the programs offered by the school.
The school offers a graduate degree program in architecture, an advanced undergraduate B.F.A. in Digital Arts and the new B.F.A. in Product Design at the UO in Portland facilities at the White Stag Block. Academic Programs
Architecture
The Department of Architecture builds on more than twenty years of teaching in the City of Portland. The Department of Architecture’s Portland program is defined by strong connections to the urban landscape and examines ways to strengthen relationships between individual buildings, public spaces, and the fabric of urban neighborhoods. Courses emphasize a strong theoretical foundation in urban design, coupled with design studios that focus on critical issues of the region. The UO’s program is accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board. All UO undergraduate and graduate architecture students are eligible to study in Portland in the last two years of their accredited degree program. Incoming graduate students with a pre-professional undergraduate degree in architecture can complete all the coursework for the Master of Architecture degree in Portland.
