Are you interested in learning about a career in architecture, digital arts, or product design? For one week each summer, we invite you to come join us at the White Stag Block for this unique camp experience. At the UO Design Camp, you will engage in thoughtful, creative conversations, design exercises, and field trips with professional architects and designers. Join us and discover your creative calling and your place within Portland’s vivid design community.

UO Design Camp gives students interested in architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design a chance to explore Portland's exciting architecture scene, and to model 3-dimensional spaces of their own designs.

Digital Arts
Students will explore how digital technologies like animation, graphics, and web design function and how art and technology come together to create culture.

Product Design
The product design curriculum in UO Design Camp explores how new products are created – from the drawing board to production. Students will have the opportunity to design and prototype products that make our world a safer, more sustainable, or just a more joyful place to live.

BE A DESIGNER. At the UO Design Camp, you will gain an understanding of the disciplines you are interested in pursuing through exposure to working professionals and the tools and techniques of the trade. You will have the opportunity to dig deeper into the three disciplines and to make your ideas reality with a hands-on studio project. You will take part in discussions and design reviews, and make friends that will enhance your understanding and help inform your personal aesthetic.

OUR INSTRUCTORS. Our UO Design Camp instructors are all working professionals in their field, as well as being instructors and alumni of the University of Oregon School of Architecture and Allied Arts. They are passionate about bringing their professional practice to the classroom to introduce the next generation of designers the rewards, challenges, and joys of a creative career.

Classes meet from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Cost is $950, including a tee shirt, lunches, and snacks. Cost does not include housing, additional meals, parking, or transportation to and from the school. Please note that student housing is not provided. Students must make their own housing arrangements. The White Stag Block is easily accessible via Portland's public transportation system.
